Optimising switched measurements using TSP
This white paper from Keithley illustrates the flexibility and speed advantages of embedded test script processing (TSP) in a production test environment. The application example is a system consisting of a model 2602 SourceMeter and a model 3706 system switch, being used to test a batch of 10 LEDs.
The system is configured in four different ways - the results show that even the use of the most basic TSP functionality can provide a significant boost to throughput. Meanwhile, a more advanced TSP implementation results in a throughput improvement of more than four times in this case.

Update - The 3706 and 2602 used in this applications example have since been updated to the 3706A and 2602A versions, respectively. This means that they are both LXI-C compatible, and all TSP configuration and script loading can be performed over Ethernet, eliminating the need for costly GPIB cabling and interfaces. (Note the instruments still have GPIB interfaces as well.)
